In the ninth inning, something even more unbelievable happened. With two outs and runners on first and third, Nanum All-Star Ko Woo-seok (LG) walked Kim Min-seok (Lotte Giants) on an automatic four-pitcher, bringing Buchanan to the plate.

After fouling off a 150-kilometre fastball from Ko, Buchanan drove the next two pitches off the bat for foul balls. Then, in a two-ball, two-strike situation, he again took a 150km fastball from Ko for a single.
