Seongnam Bundang Management High School guard Heo Yoo-jung (173.5 centimeters) has been drafted by Incheon Shinhan Bank in the Women’s Professional Basketball League.

Heo was selected by Shinhan Bank, which exercised its right to the third pick in the 2023-2024 WKBL Draft, held at Cheongju Indoor Gymnasium on Thursday.

Heo Yoo-jung is a prospect who also participated in the FIBA U-17 Women’s Basketball World Cup last year, and although she is a guard, she is expected to be a great addition to Shinhan Bank, which is somewhat weak at the guard position due to her good physical condition and stable dribbling.

In addition, Yongin Samsung Life Insurance, which exercised the fourth pick, selected forward Lee Yena (Cheongju Girls’ High School-177.5 cm), while Busan BNK, ranked fifth, and Asan Woori Bank, ranked sixth, selected forward Park Da-won (179.2 cm) and center Byun Ha-jung (179.9 cm) from Geopu Bundang Management High School.

In the second round, which used the first round’s reverse order of picks, Bucheon Hana OneQ selected forward Shin Tae-hee (Sangju Girls’ High School-178.1 cm) with the first pick, while Shinhan Bank, which lost guard Shim Soo-hyun to BNK on the spot and acquired the second pick, selected fun compatriot Katie Timmerman (172.9 cm) and then used the fourth pick to acquire Sunil Girls’ High School center Seo Jin-young (186 cm).

With the fourth pick in the second round, Samsung Life selected Seoul Sungkyunkwan High School guard Kim Soo-in (174 cm), while Cheongju KB took sophomore forward Ko Hyun-ji (Gwangju Supia Girls High School-182.2 cm) with the first overall pick.

Twelve of the 28 players in the draft were drafted by professionals, with Bundang Business School having the most with three.
