Penalty not called…”not a fair call”
Following the 0-3 friendly loss to Paris Saint-Germain (FRA), Jeonbuk Hyundai head coach Dan Petrescu praised opposing ace striker Neymar. He also gave a thumbs-up to the talent of Lee Kang-in, who came on as a substitute in PSG’s first match in front of the domestic fans.

Jeonbuk fell victim to a multi-goal performance from PSG star Neymar. Neymar opened the scoring in the 40th minute of the first leg with a right-footed shot following a nice run in the box, with the score tied at 0-0.
Neymar added a second goal in the 38th minute to make it 1-0 and put the game out of reach.
After the game, Coach Petrescu said, “We played well in the first half and had chances, but it was Neymar who made the difference.” “We played well in the second half and Neymar’s goal widened the gap,” he said.

“It’s unfortunate that the referee wasn’t more fair,” he said, looking back at the situation where the penalty was not awarded.
Jeonbuk changed all of its players in the first and second half of the match to prepare for its K League 1 match against Incheon United on June 6.
Petrescu said it was a “good experience and a lot of learning against a special opponent like PSG,” but “the only worry is that we have a long trip from Busan to Jeonju again.”
Trescu was also full of praise for ‘Golden Boy’ Lee Kang-in, who came on as a second-half substitute. Lee took the field in the 24th minute of the second half as a substitute for Hugo Ekitiike. He wasn’t 100% yet, so he didn’t strain himself, but he helped the team win.

“It’s hard to give an opinion on today’s performance because he didn’t play a lot of minutes and it was his return from injury,” Petrescu said, “but I know he joined PSG from Mallorca. He’s a player with speed, the ability to pass and score goals.”
“He must be a talented last-ditch passer, which is why PSG signed him,” he added.
The Jeonbuk boss was also full of praise for his PSG counterpart, Enrique.
“He seems to be transplanting the same daring and aggressive moves to PSG that he did at Barcelona,” he said, adding, “PSG is a team that wants to win the French league and the UEFA Champions League, and Enrique is a very capable coach.”
