This is the first time that more than one Korean swimmer has reached the final of an individual event at a World Aquatics Championships.

Both Hwang and Lee punched their tickets to the final, which is reserved for the top eight finishers.

Fan Zhanle (CHN), who has been in terrifying form of late, failed to qualify for the final with a time of 1:46.05.
The final, featuring two South Korean swimmers, will be held at the same venue on 25 May at 8pm.
