Suarez handed 10G suspension for ‘foreign object’ exit…player appeals
San Diego Padres right-handed reliever Robert Suarez has been disciplined.
메이저놀이터The Major League Baseball Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today (26 June) that Suarez has been suspended for 10 games and fined on behalf of Michael Hill, senior vice president of game operations.
The punishment is for violating the no foreign substance policy. Major League Baseball has been cracking down on the use of foreign substances by pitchers since June 2021, with the penalty for a violation being a 10-game suspension.

Suarez was ejected from a home game against the Miami Marlins on 24 April after being caught using a foreign substance in the top of the eighth inning.
Todd Tichenor, the umpire’s assistant at the time, later explained in a pool report that the substance was “too sticky” and was ejected.
Suarez is the sixth pitcher to be ejected since the increased testing.
He is the fourth to be ejected this season, joining Max Scherzer, Drew Smith (Mets) and Domingo Herrmann (Yankees).
Despite the suspension, he will be allowed to pitch tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers as he appeals the decision.
Suarez’s suspension is on hold until the appeals process is complete.
Suarez, who made his big league debut last year after playing in Nippon Professional Baseball, missed the first half of the season with an elbow injury.
He made a late return in the second half and is 2-2 with a 4.73 ERA and four saves in 13 1/3 innings pitched in 13 games.
